ICC names Hair to officiate Mombasa tri-series

MOMBASA (Kenya), Jan 13: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has appointed Darrell Hair to stand as an official umpire in the triangular one-day series, which starts here next week, involving Kenya, Scotland and Canada. In November, ICC president Percy Sonn had announced Hair would not be appointed to international matches involving ICC Full Members. The announcement, which came from Cricket Kenya, clearly caught the ICC unprepared, and a spokesman told Cricinfo that there would be no formal media release until Sunday. —Cricinfo
