ISLAMABAD, Jan 13: Islamabad put Quetta bowling to the sword to take a massive 419-run lead on the first innings on the second day of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Silver League game at the Diamond Cricket Ground on Saturday.
Islamabad, replying to Quetta's 161 amassed 580 in 122.3 overs after resuming at 185 for three.
Quetta’s misery was such that even tail-enders Fakhir Hussain hit 54 with nine fours and one six and last man Zohaib Ahmed scored 52 with nine fours.
Other notable contributors for the hosts were debutant Immad Wasim (88), Ashar Zaidi (48) and Test discard Azhar Mahmood (57) while wicket-keeper Naeem Anjum struck an unbeaten 83.
The main wicket taker for Quetta was off-spinner Naseer Khan with six for 174.
Quetta lost Jalat Khan for a duck to finish at 2 for one.
