KARACHI, Jan 13: Public fancy, five-year-old chestnut Terrorist who was not backed by his connections in the last run, is likely to make amends by capturing the feature event in the Gymkhana race meeting at the Karachi Racecourse on Sunday.
Terrorist’s stable mate filly Abhi Abhi kicked off the season when she land ‘Horse of the Year’ cup 2006 denying the former a double hat-trick last Sunday. Terrorist was completely off the mark and failed to finish on the board.
Considering his present form and excellent run he start as clear favourite in the six furlongs race having a field of six runners. He should be chased by Voo Doo Doll and Fantasia.
The first race begins at 12noon.
Either of the two — mare Butter Fly or colt Laat Sahib — are tipped to pick up spoils in the supporting event. Both come from the stables of Shah Mardan Shah Pir Pagara.
Bay colt, The Concord, stand a fair chance to finish on the board.
Seventeen horses are in contention for honours in the class VI barring last minute withdrawl. Of them, six-year-old bay mare Ouija Board is poised to make it two-in-a-row.
Her likely challengers are Phapha Kutni and Patricia belonging to the same connection.
With two wins on the trot, Ms Zubaida Rehmat’s six-year-old mare Sonu Love Mani should sprint to victory in top division of class VII. She was withdrawn from the field of Eid Milan Cup last Sunday.
She should be followed by Kat Mandu and Al Zarrar for the places.
Four form horses are to vie for honours in the div II class VII. They are Lucky Friend, Forget Me Not, Sweet Grandy and Juliat. We prefer Lucky Friend while the others are likely to complete the frame.
Saddled by Mian Asif, chestnut Field Commander should deliver the goods in the in div III class VII. He is likely to be opposed by Fair Boy and Khyber.
The div IV class VII race should see Daruwala making amends to earlier loss by galloping to victory.
Mares Sweet Sindhri and Lucky Legs are tipped to finish ahead of opponent’s in the last two races.
