JUI-S chief in Samarkand

PESHAWAR, Jan 13: Chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Senator Maunlana Samiul Haq arrived in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on Saturday. According to a press release issued by the party here, Maulana Samiul Haq and his entourage were received by the governor of Samarkand and other high officials.

Later, the JUI-S chief visited the tomb of Imam Bukhari, located some 15km off Samarkand, and gave a 'Dars' on the first and last Hadith of Bukhari Shareef. He also visited the tombs of Qaim bin Abbas and Amir Taimurlung.

In Bukhara, the JUI-S delegation would visit some shrines and hold talks with government officials, said the press release.
