Fatal ride for four

FAISALABAD, Jan 13: Four people of a family were killed on Hafiz Anayat Road in the limits of Garh Police Station on Saturday.

Fayyaz Ahmed, his wife Gulan Bibi, son Muhammad Iqbal and relative Fateh Bibi were travelling on a motorcycle when they were run over by a tractor-trolley laden with sugarcane. The driver fled while police sent bodies to morgue for an autopsy.

MURDERED: The father of Nawaja Sikh, an alleged notorious criminal, was gunned down in Jhumrah Police Station’s precincts on Saturday.

Police said that 70-year-old Ghulam Muhammad from Chak 85 RB was in Islampura to see his daughter when two unidentified motorcyclists shot him dead and fled.

No case had been registered yet. The reason behind the murder was stated to be an old enmity.

Nawaja Sikh, also a former guard of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, was also killed six months ago by unidentified people.
