KARACHI, Jan 11: Sialkot, the reigning Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League champions, will make their first appearance when the second round action begins from Friday.
Sialkot’s opponents are Interloop Faisalabad – the side they outclassed by innings inside three days in last season’s final at Lahore – in the four-day clash at Jinnah Stadium in Sialkot.
In their opening match which was drawn, Faisalabad conceded three points after Lahore Shalimar obtained a single run lead on the first innings.
Peshawar, the only team to secure all nine points in the first round, face Karachi Urban at the National Stadium. Rawalpindi, beaten by Peshawar, host Karachi Harbour, who lost their city rivals despite taking first-innings lead.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad will be forward to making it two out of two wins in the Silver League when they entertain Abbottabad after the latter were annihilated by innings and 151 runs by Islamabad.
Islamabad would also chalk up another win as they play Quetta, who were thrashed within three days by Multan. Lahore Ravi are keen to erase their defeat in Hyderabad when they host Multan.
