MELBOURNE, Jan 11: The recently retired Australian middle-order batsman Damien Martyn will finally reveal his reasons for suddenly quitting the game and leaving the side midway through the Ashes series.

Matryn will spill the truth in a show on Channel Nine, and is expected to have been signed up for about $30,000 (Australian) for it, Australian daily Courier Mail reports.

It also means that his interview is most likely to be aired during the tri-series between Australia, New Zealand and England will still be running.

Martyn has kept a low profile since his mysterious retirement after the second Test against England in Adelaide which Australia won. He was also retained in the side for the third Test that was played in Perth.—Agencies
