Privilege motions discussed

ISLAMABAD, Jan 11: The National Assembly Standing Committee on Rules of Procedure and Privileges discussed four privilege motions in its meeting here on Thursday.

The committee which met under the chairmanship of Sardar Nasrullah Khan Dreshak, disposed off two privilege motions moved by Anwar Ali Chema regarding the alleged indifferent attitude of ex-DG Postal Services Agha Masood Hassan and Sahibzada Fazal Karim against Mohammad Saeed, an engineer of Sui Northern Gas Pipeline, as the movers have withdrawn the motions.

During discussion on the privilege motion moved by Ramesh Lal regarding the alleged misbehaviour of Faisal Saud, secretary education and works Sindh, Mr Saud tendered unconditional written apology to the mover as well as to the committee.

The committee decided to defer the said privilege motion for the next meeting.

In the privilege motion of Nawab Mohammad Yousuf Talpur against Malik Allah Dino, TPO Kunri, Sindh, the mover explained the reasons for giving the privilege motion. However, Malik Dino denied the allegations. The committee deferred it for the next meeting.

Besides the chairman, MNAs Imtiaz Safdar Warraich, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Syed Ahmad Alam Anwar, Zulfiqar Ali Gondola, Kunwar Khalid Younus, Rubina Shaheen Wattoo, Chaudhry Imranullah, Malik Mohammad Amin Aslam Khan and Ali Nizamani were present during the meeting.
