DADU, Jan 11: Services of as many as 87 employees of the Taluka Municipal Administration of Dadu were terminated on Thursday on different charges. The acting taluka nazim of Dadu, Syed Murad Ali Shah, levelled six allegations while terminating the services of employees in his notification issued on Thursday.

They were appointed during ban on recruitment, neither permission was sought from the taluka council, nor the posts were advertised in the newspapers which was termed by many as violation of merit. All the terminated employees are said to be relatives of the then taluka nazim Naban Khan Lund who is in behind bars facing murder charges.

The terminated employees included, Mir Mehmood Khan, office superintendent and Safdar Ali, chief sanitary supervisor, who are sons of the then taluka nazim Naban Khan Lund.

In BPS-11, Abdul Karim, son of Mohammad Ayub Lund, tax superintendent, whereas Ali Nawaz Lund (computer operator), Masood Ahmed Panhwar (sanitary supervisor), Imdad Ali Lund (foreman) BPS-16.

The other expelled employees included Abdul Rehman Lund (senior accounts clerk), Irshad Lund (sanitary inspector) and Ahmed Lund, tax supervisor.

The acting taluka nazim, told newsmen that all these employees were appointed illegally by the then taluka nazim, and the taluka council had also passed a resolution against these appointments.

He said that such an information was also sent to the chief secretary and secretary local government.

Meanwhile, a large number of terminated employees staged a demonstration out side the press club on Thursday demanding their reinstatement. Led by Mohammad Rafique Lund, Ahmed Lund and Syed Najaf Ali Shah, they claimed that they were appointed on merit.

DIFFERENCES: Serious differences have emerged between the district administration of Dadu and officials of te Anti-Corruption Establishment after Mohammad Suleman Solangi, an assistant of DCO office, was arrested red handed by the ACE team in a raid at the DCO office from whom tainted money amounting to Rs 4000 was also recovered.

In another raid, two employees of revenue department i.e. tapedar Abdul Shakoor Rahujo and Kotar, Gul Hassan Babar were also arrested red-handed in Kakar on Wednesday.

Employees of DCO office, mukhtiarkars offices of Khairpur Nathan Shah, Johi and Dadu, works and services and education departments boycotted their offices on Thursday and took out a rally from the DCO office which marched up to the local press club against the arrest of these employees.

They were led by leaders of Tapedars Association, Mehmood Ali, Photo Khan and Ahmed Panhwar. They demanded immediate release of all arrested employees.

When contacted, circle officer of ACE, Mohammad Azam Baloch, maintained that the DCO office and other places were raided on public complaints under the supervision of judicial magistrates. He said that these were judicial raids and they had succeeded in arresting corrupt officials with tainted money but the administration was putting pressure on him. He claimed that some officials of the district government of Dadu were also threatening him.

DCO: The DCO, Aijaz Mangi, termed raids at his and other offices of revenue department in the district as managed one. He said that he would take up the matter at the highest level. He exonerated the officials working in his office by saying that no one was getting bribe.
