KARACHI, Jan 11: The Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Afzal Tahir, on Thursday visited the Jinnah Naval Base, Ormara, and reviewed progress on various ongoing projects.

An ISPR (Navy) press release said that the naval chief inaugurated a link road connecting the base with the coastal highway. The road has been named after Qazi Mohammad Isa, a close associate of the Quaid-i-Azam who hailed from Balochistan.

The road will not only play an incremental role in bringing progress to the area, but will also be a great facility for the local populace and fishermen for transportation of goods and seafood.

Admiral Afzal Tahir also inaugurated repair and support services yard at Ormara port. This yard would provide all necessary technical and logistic facilities to the navy. The port is the secondary operating port for Pakistan Navy.—APP
