KARACHI, Jan 11: Sindh Minister for Women Development Dr Saeeda Malik has called upon women councillors to unite in order to achieve progress and empowerment. She said this while speaking as the chief guest at a seminar organized by Karachi City Government in collaboration with Sindh Developed Social Services (SDSP) at a local hotel on Thursday.

She stated that to achieve progress and power, the councillors should have a good network and liaison besides education for which through proper training and education the women would be able to participate and get due rights in society.

While referring to women empowerment, she lauded the efforts of the president and the prime minister who, she added, were fulfilling the vision of the Father of the Nation.

The minister said that even our religion and constitution had given guarantees to women rights.

She also stated that women participation and improvement had been amply demonstrated in Sindh where women ministers, the deputy speaker, district nazims and senators were working.

On this occasion she also disclosed that the president and the NRB had been approached to enhance women representation from 33 per cent to 50 per cent in all fields of life.—APP
