KARACHI: Test for 596 non-teaching posts on Sunday
KARACHI, Jan 11: A meeting of five regional education managers (colleges), presided over by Dr Mohammad Ali Shaikh, provincial education manager (colleges) of Sindh, on Thursday reviewed the arrangements for a written test for recruitment against 596 non-teaching posts in grades from BPS-5 to BPS-15, scheduled for Sunday.The test is to be taken at five regional headquarters of college education in Sindh -- Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana and Mirpurkhas. More than 13,000 persons from all the 23 districts of Sindh have applied for various posts, ranging from stenographer to gas plant operator. Only 378 female candidates have applied for the posts.
It was decided that all the candidates who had submitted their applications for these posts in response to the advertisement published in leading newspapers in October 2006 could appear in the test on Sunday at 11am in the tests centres of their respective regions. The lists of the applicants have already been supplied to the regional headquarters. However, if any candidate’s name is missing from the lists, he could show the receipt of sending application and would be allowed to appear in the test.
For the applicants from Karachi, the test will be held at the Government D.J. Science College. For the applicants from districts of Hyderabad, Tando Allahyar, Tando Mohammad Khan, Matiari, Jamshoro, Nawabshah, Dadu, Badin and Thatta, the test centre will be held at the Government Zubeida Girls College in Hyderabad. The test for candidates from the districts of Mirpurkhas, Sanghar, Umerkot and Tharparkar will be held at Shah Abdul Latif Government College, near Gamma Stadium, Mirpurkhas.
The test centre for candidates from the districts of Sukkur, Khairpur Mirs, Nosheroferoz and Ghotki will be held in the Government Degree Boys College, Shikarpur Road, Sukkur. Tests of the candidates from districts of Larkana, Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Kambar, and Kashmore will be in the Government Higher Secondary School, VIP Road, Larkana.
Candidates have been advised to confirm their names from the lists displayed at the test centres. In case of any problem, they may contact the regional education managers of their respective regions.
They will have to bring their original CNIC for verification before and during the test. The candidates are also told to bring a clip board and a black ballpoint for writing, and to at the test centre an hour before the time of test. They are warned that books, printed material and carrying in cellphones in the centre are prohibited.—PPI
