Rs150 million uplift plans approved

LAKKI MARWAT, Jan 10: The Lakki District Development Committee on Wednesday approved a number of uplift schemes worth above Rs150 million. A meeting of the committee was held with district coordination officer Khushal Khan in the chair. Besides assistant coordination officer Syed Khalid Israr Shah and district planning officer Muhammad Riaz Khan, heads of departments concerned attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that 11 schemes in the water supply and sanitation sector would cost Rs24.682 million, while Rs100 million would go to eight schemes in the health sector. An amount of Rs15.4 million would be spent on five schemes in the agriculture sector, while five schemes in the livestock sector would cost Rs20 million.

Khushal Khan, who is also chairman of the District Development Committee, directed officials of the line department to make proper consultation on site selection before launching the construction work on the development projects.

"The officials must ensure proper supervision and monitoring of ongoing work on the uplift projects and use of quality material in the construction," he added.—Correspondent
