HYDERABAD, Jan 9: Sindh Minister for Law Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed has said that the people have become politically conscious and they can no longer be deceived by hollow slogans.

Speaking to delegations of Pakistan Muslim League (Functional) from Hyderabad and Jamshoro districts at the local circuit house on Monday he urged party workers to cooperate with the government in its social welfare and administrative affairs and asked them to supervise the ongoing development works.

SPSC: The additional controller of examinations of the Sindh Public Service Commission (SPSC), Hyderabad, announced on Tuesday the results of departmental examinations for assistant collector part-I and II, subordinate treasury accounts service (accountant and accounts clerk) and revenue held in November 2006.

No candidate could get through departmental examinations of subordinate account service (SAS) part-II and forest officer.

MEETING: A meeting has directed the police department to make foolproof security arrangements in and around Bhitshah during the annual Urs of Sufi poet Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, which is celebrated each year in the Islamic month of Safar. The meeting was held at Bhitshah Rest House on Monday and presided over by Sindh secretary for culture Abdul Qadir Mangi.
