Woman, son freed after abduction

By Our Correspondent

BAHAWALPUR, Jan 7: Seven unidentified armed persons allegedly abducted a woman and her ten-year-old son in Model Town here on Sunday, later releasing the both. However, the outlaws took away the car being used by the woman.

According to police, Najma Sultana, wife of landlord Riaz Ghalloo of Jalalpur Pirwala, went to a bus stand to drop her husband.

On her way back, she was intercepted by seven unidentified men riding two cars. They forced Najma and her son to board one of the cars and drove towards Multan Road. Two of the outlaws took control of her car and followed.

After driving the car on Multan Road for sometime, the outlaws dropped Najma and her son near Basti Malook-Larr and sped away.

On her return to Bahwalpur by a bus, Najma Sultana contacted her husband who reported the matter to Cantonment police. An FIR has been registered.

The police, quoting Najma, said that the accused told her that they were proclaimed offenders and wanted to use her car to move out of Bahawalpur district. They assured her that they would soon leave the car, the police added.

So far, the police could not find any clue to the outlaws.
