RAWALPINDI, Jan 6: Peshawar bowled out hosts Rawalpindi for a modest first innings 230 on the first of the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Gold League match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

In reply, Peshawar lost one wicket for six runs in two overs available before bad light stopped play two overs early.

Test discard Naveed Qureshi top-scored for Rawalpindi with a fine knock of 97, studded with 14 boundaries and a six, while Pervez Aziz contributed 42, laced with five hits to the fence.

Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat made 25 as right-arm pacer Riaz Afridi captured 5-69 and a former Test fast bowler Fazle Akbar took 2-37. Off-spinner Arshad Khan chipped in with 2-66.
