Judge released by Afghan officials

KABUL, Jan 6: Afghan officials, after negotiations, have released a Pakistani judge and a friend of his, who had mistakenly crossed the border. District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ashfaq of Bahawalpur had gone to the Chaman border on an excursion trip with his friend and they had mistakenly crossed the border, a TV channel reported.

Afghan officials arrested them for illegal border crossing, but later handed them over to the Pakistani officials after talks.

The judge alleged that the Afghan officials had seized his vehicle and cash before releasing him.—Online
