LAHORE, Jan 6: A 4.5-kilometre road will be built from Mahfoozpura to Classmari at a cost of Rs75 million as a citizen community board project. This was disclosed during a meeting held at the Jinnah Hall here on Saturday to review various citizen community board projects with District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood in chair.

He was informed that the 50-foot dual carriageway would be completed in six months. A citizen community board would contribute 20 per cent of the cost of the project while the remaining 80 per cent would be paid by the city district government. The project would not only benefit half a million residents of Barki, Hadiara and Ghondi but also used as a trade route with India through Wagah.

The district nazim constituted a committee comprising executive district officers for community development and finance to monitor the construction of road for ensuring timely completion.
