KARACHI, Jan 5: Pakistan’s rising star Aamir Atlas Khan paved way for his second successive men’s under-19 final of the British Open Junior squash championship by crushing compatriot Farzan Rasheed in the semi-final on Friday in Sheffield, England.

According to details received here, top-seed Aamir, who is enjoying a great form in the event, took only 26 minutes to defeat Farzan 9-5, 9-1, 9-2 in straight sets.

Aamir played aggressively throughout the match while Farzan, who stunned fourth seed Egyptian Ali Anwer Rida in quarter-finals, looked hapless.

“I played a good match today against Farzan, who was looking in great nick throughout the tournament.

“I will try my best to win the final for my country and hope everything will go in my way,” 16-year-old Aamir said.

Meanwhile, Pakistan had an excellent fourth day of the championship after five of its players advanced to the semi-finals of various categories.
