Bomb hoax stirs panic at hospital

RAWALPINDI, Jan 5: A bomb hoax created panic at the Railway Hospital here on Friday. Police said the hospital administration received a bomb threat call in the early hours of Friday and informed the police and the bomb disposal squad. The caller, who did not give his name, claimed that a bomb had been planted in the hospital which would be detonated shortly.

The police and bomb disposal experts reached the hospital soon after and searched the wards, operation theatres and offices for more than three hours but found no explosives. Later they declared it a ‘hoax call.’

Meanwhile, four persons were deprived of their cars by robbers in Islamabad within a span of three hours on Friday night. According to the police, two persons intercepted a yellow cab (IDT-5634) in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police and snatched it at gunpoint from its driver Zahid. They also took away cash and cellphone.

Meanwhile, a car (KW-879) was stolen from Sector I-9, another car (RIY-139) from Kohsar police area and a vehicle (RIX- 9500) from the Aabpara area.
