By Mansoor Mirani

KHAIRPUR, Jan 4: Four people were killed and two others injured when a policeman on court duty reportedly opened fire outside the office of an assistant sessions judge Khairpur on Thursday.

Policeman Moosa Langah along with four armed men in police uniform opened fire on Haji Banhon Langah from an official Kalashnikov, killing him on the spot.

The deceased, a resident of Pir Mangio village, had come to record statement as witness for Lal Dino and other accused in a case.

Accused Moosa told police that one-and-half-year ago Banho Langah had kidnapped his sister and married her in a Karachi court.

Three prisoners Lal Dino Khaskheli, Dhani Bux Jagirani and Dilbar Jagirani were also killed in the firing.

The injured were identified as Mazhar Jagirani and Usman Jagirani, residents of Kotpul village.

Police after registering an FIR (02/2007) arrested constable Moosa and conducting raids to arrest Qurban Jamali and others.

Our Sukkur Correspondent adds: Advisor to Sindh chief minister on home affairs Waseem Akhtar taking serious notice of the firing incident, has ordered the Sukkur RPO to probe into the incident and bring the culprits to book.
