KARACHI: IT research board in offing, says adviser

KARACHI, Jan 4: An Information Technology Research and Development Board will be constituted in the province. This was stated by the adviser to the Sindh Chief Minister on information technology, Noman Saigal.

Talking to the representatives of IT companies in his office here on Thursday, the adviser said that this would be on the pattern of the IT Board in the province.

The IT experts from both the public and the private sectors would be included in this board which would undertake planning for the growth of IT on a faster rate.

Mr Saigal said that research would be carried out in every sphere of activity.

The services of the local IT and multinational companies would be sought for the board so that a faster growth was made possible in the IT sector within a minimum possible time.

The adviser said that the board would also be asked to undertake planning to help raise the literacy ratio and for fostering education.—APP
