Eidul Azha today

ISLAMABAD, Dec 31: Eidul Azha will be celebrated throughout the country on Monday with religious fervour.

Eid prayers will be offered at Eidgahs, mosques and open places all over the country. Ulema and Khateebs, in their Eid sermons, will highlight the significance and philosophy of sacrifice.

On the occasion, prayers will be offered for unity, solidarity and progress of Pakistan, well-being of the Ummah and emancipation of the oppressed Muslims the world over.

The largest Eid congregation in the capital will be held at the Faisal Mosque.

After the Eid prayers, camels, cows, goats and sheep will be sacrificed.

Meanwhile, a number of people complained that the prices of sacrificial animals were very high.

Those selling the animals, however, justified the increase

in prices by referring to the rise in the rays of other commodities in the market over the past year.—PPI/APP
