PML leaders discuss proposed bill


ISLAMABAD, Dec 29: Women parliamentarians and leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League discussed the proposed legislation on prevention of anti-women practices at a meeting held at the PML House.

Presided over by PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, the meeting was also attended by PML Secretary-General Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Minister for Tourism Nilofar Bakhtiar and women parliamentarians and leaders of the PML.

A 12-member Media Awareness Committee was also formed on the occasion. Led by Senator Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli, the committee would chalk out plans for creating awareness on the bill among the masses.

A large number of women parliamentarians from the PML and allied parties the PPP and the MQM participated in the meeting.

They discussed the proposed “Prevention of Anti-Women Practices Bill” (PAWPB) and exchanged views on it.

The women parliamentarians presented their proposals on the bill.

Federal Minister for Tourism Nilofar Bakhtiar, who is also Central President of the Women's Wing of the PML, organized and conducted the meeting.—APP
