KARACHI: Two robbers arrested after hot pursuit in Hyderi

KARACHI, Dec 29: Police arrested two dacoits in North Nazimabad after a hot pursuit on Friday morning. The dacoits had snatched Rs200,000 from a man identified as Arshad, who had drawn the amount from Union Bank located in Hyderi police limits.
According to police, the bandits in a Corolla XLI intercepted Arshad’s car in the limits of Taimuria police and escaped after snatching the cash.
The victim instantly called 15 and finally the bandits were intercepted at the Karimabad intersection, said police.
The bandits were identified as Syed Shahab Hydri, 27, and Arif Mehboob alias Tunda, who has a single hand and disfigured face.
Police recovered Rs160,000 from the car but were not able to recover any weapon from their possession despite repeated search of the vehicle.
During interrogation the suspects revealed that they had a third accomplice Sajid Charagu riding a motorcycle, who had already taken his share of Rs40,000 and managed to escape.
It was only in the interrogation that suspects disclosed the location of the two pistols. The two TT pistols were hidden in the cavity of door panel of the car.
Police said the absconding suspect Sajid Charagu was wanted in numerous robbery and rape cases.
BODY FOUND: A badly tortured body of a middle aged woman was recovered from Ibrahim Hydri area on Friday.
Police said the body was found stuffed in a gunny bag from a deserted place.
According to police, the woman later identified as Zubaida, 50, was strangulated to death. Police shifted the body to the Jinnah Hospital for autopsy.
INJURED: A young man was injured while resisting bandits in Landhi Town area here on Friday. Mohammad Ali, a resident of M Area Korangi, had gone to the NBP branch of K Area along with his sister.
As he returned home, his sister went inside; meanwhile two suspects on a motorcycle took him at gunpoint demanding cash. Upon his refusal, the suspects opened fire injuring his leg and fled.
