Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 29: Two ships carrying containers and chemicals were accommodated berths at QICT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Friday. Meanwhile, one more container ship also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 50 per cent as five ships, Kia Waleed, Bar Blue, Annie Sierra, Aghia Markella and Stolt Strength, were busy in loading and unloading containers, cement, rice, seeds, and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 34,697 tons comprising 26,582 tons of import and 8,115 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing activity was slow as only one ship Kia Ibn Al-Waleed left the port.
