Hissam, Saqib excel in team victory

LAHORE, Dec 28: Eight goals by Hissam Ali Hyder and four by Saqib Khan Khakwani steered Punjab Police to an overwhelming 14-3 1/2 win against Data Hybrid Corn in the 12-Goal polo cup on Thursday.

The losers could add only one goal, through Umar Sadik, to their 2 1/2 goal handicap to lead the first chukker 3 1/2-2.

Hissam and Saqib opened their accounts to reduce the margin.

From the second chukker onwards, Punjab Police took complete control and penetrated the defense of Data Hybrid scoring five goals in the second, including four by Hissam and one by Faaiz Rahim Khan. They collected three more in the third chukker through Saqib (2) and Faaiz (1).

The fourth chukker saw Hissam slam three more with Saqib one to complete the tally.

Two goals each by Raja Samiullah and Sameer Suhag helped Guard Rice beat Candy Land 6- 4 1/2. Taimur Mawaz Khan and Taimur Ali Malik added one goal each.

For the losers, who had a 1 1/2 goal handicap, Ahmed Ali Tiwana, Asif Tiwana and Vishal Singh added a goal.
