SUKKUR, Dec 28: Members of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat took out a procession in Thull town on Thursday in protest against step-motherly treatment being meted out to Sindhi language by the government.
The writers marched from the Shah Latif library to the press club.
They demanded that Sindhi and other Pakistani languages be declared national languages of the country.
The writers and poets observed a sit-in outside the Thull press club.
The central auditor of the Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Ghulam Mohammad Ghazi, Asghar Sujag, Wafa Buriro and Hakim Katohar led the protesters.
They condemned the exclusion of Asaan Sindhi subject from HSC-I classes and termed it a conspiracy against Sindhi.
They demanded that the Sindh government should immediately restore the subject in HSC-I classes.
RAIDS: Police on Thursday raided different villages and arrested more than 30 suspects after the killing of a policeman by armed dacoits on the Dad Leghari-Mirpur Mathelo road on Sunday.
According to the reports, heavy contingent of the Mirpur Mathelo police raided Qutubuddin Pitafi, Bari Ado, Sajjan Ado, Keenjhar, 37 Pull, Noor Mohammad Jalbani and Pipli villages and conducted house-to-house search.
Police arrested more than 30 suspects and recovered 10 motorcycles from them.
According to the TPO, the real culprits were still at large and would be arrested soon.
It may be mentioned that, extensive police operation was launched four days ago to arrest the culprits involved in the killing of a policeman.
