Port Qasim

KARACHI, Dec 28: Two container ships were accommodated berths at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Thursday. Meanwhile, two more ships carrying containers and chemicals also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy was maintained at 50 per cent as six ships, Socotra, ACX Jasmine, Bar Blue, Annie Sierra, Aghia Markella and Trust Spirit were busy in loading and offloading containers, cement, rice, seeds and furnace oil.

A cargo volume of 79,742 tons comprising 64,978 tons of import and 14,764 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as ACX Jasmine and Socotra left the port. Two ships, Stolt Strenth and Kia Ibn Al-Waleed, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
