KARACHI, Dec 26: Police on Monday arrested a gang of bandits involved in street crime and house robberies in Gulshan-i-Iqbal. A statement issued by the TPO of Gulshan Town office said that during the snap-checking police intercepted a snatched vehicle (AFY-230) and arrested three suspects identified as Naseebullah, Amir Khan and Jehanzeb.

Police seized tow TT pistols, seven bullets and Rs9,000 from them.

The same gang was involved in a house robbery that took place on December 24, in Block 3.

In another incident, Chakiwara police arrested on Tuesday three suspects who were busy depriving people of valuables on Chakiwara Road.

They were identified as Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Yousuf and Khair Muhammad. Police seized three pistols and the snatched Rs2,000 from them.

SHOT DEAD: A young man was shot dead by unknown persons in Malir on Tuesday.

Police said Majid, 24, had left his home for office in the Khokhrapar area when unknown persons shot him before fleeing.

Police said that on hearing the gunshot, the victim’s brother rushed out of the house, and found Majid lying on the road. He was rushed to the hospital, but died on way.

Quoting some area people, the victim’s family said that it was an incident of cellphone or cash snatching as the deceased had no enmity with anyone. However, police suspected that the killing was linked with some enmity.
