KARACHI: Scholars asked to play role to unite Ummah

KARACHI, Dec 26: A strong character of Muslim Ummah is inevitable in international politics to usher Islamic revolution and their survival and welfare is possible only in evolving an Islamic society.
These observations were made by Muslim scholars from Egypt, Iraq, Syria and UAE who came here to attend a seminar on “Tahaffuz Namoos-i-Risalat and responsibilities of Islamic world” jointly organised by Idara Tahqeeqat-i-Imam Ahmad Raza and Berkati Foundation in a local hotel.
The speakers at the seminar among others were Al-Shaikh Syed Abdul Rehman Gilani from Baghdad, Dr Ibrahim Mohammad Ismail Qandeel from Jamia Al-Azhar, Egypt, Allama Ahmad Sadiq from Syria and former UAE minister Shaikh Esa Al-Mane.
Speaking on the recent acts of blasphemy, the speakers said that giving awards to blasphemers in the name of press freedom had hurt the feelings of Muslims across the globe.
They observed that today the imperialist forces were striving to eliminate sense of honour amongst Muslims for which Zionists and Christians had opened a joint front so as to make Muslims weak in all walks of life.
It is high time to check educational decline of Muslims and launch joint struggle after providing them a strong ideological base, they added saying that blocking propagation of Islam was a satanic act.
They said that protection of faith and Namoos-i-Risalat was need of the hour and unity of scholars of all schools of thought was a must. The scholars urged the Ummah to overcome their political and social weaknesses and launch a campaign to block anti-Islamic designs.
Former UAE minister Shaikh Esa Al-Mane said double standard of the European countries was a challenge for Muslim world.
Earlier, the president of the Idara, Allama Sahibzada Syed Wajahat Rasool Quaderi in the welcome address highlighted the works and objectives of the Idara.
Mufti Muneebur Rehman said a heavy responsibility devolve to Ulema, Mashaikh , intellectuals, scholars, and journalists to launch practical struggle to attain unity.
Dr Majeedullah Quaderi, Prof Dr Mohammad Amin Mian Barkati from India, Dr Syed Irshad Bokhari from Bangladesh, Mufti Ashfaq Ahmad Rizvi from London also spoke.
