KARACHI: Road contract revoked


KARACHI, Dec 24: Federal Communication Minister Shamim Siddiqi on Saturday announced to revoke the award of contract to a company for the construction of N-5 Karachi-Hyderabad Motorway. Speaking at a press conference, the minister said that there was irregularity in awarding of the contract worth Rs7 billion. The federal and provincial governments and he himself was not taken into confidence, he added. He said he had submitted a report to the prime minister about irregularities committed by the National Highway Authority.
