PESHAWAR, Dec 23: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has called upon the people of his province to end enmities.
Speaking as a chief guest at a public meeting in the Regi village here on Saturday, he urged Pakhtun elders to educate their children instead of pushing them into rivalries. Mr Durrani said he wished that Regi and other villages could become peaceful and everybody could visit these places without fear.
The chief minister said the MMA-led provincial government had compiled a booklet, comprising details of the steps taken by it in the last four years. He inaugurated the gas supply scheme to Regi and Malkandher villages.
He also inaugurated the construction project of a high school in the area. The chief minister announced the establishment of a degree college, upgradation of a basic health unit and construction of sewerage line.
He announced the grant Rs1 million for Eid Gah, Rs1 million for the construction of Sheikh Baba road and Rs300,000 for Madressah Ahyaul Islam.
Provincial minister Hafiz Hashmat Khan, Amanullah Haqqani, Kashif Azam, MPA Khalid Waqar Chamkani and others also spoke on the occasion.—PPI
