Patients suffer during PM’s visit to Pims

ISLAMABAD, Dec 22: The patients and attendants faced great hardship for more than 45 minutes on Friday during visit of Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz to Pims. He came to the hospital amid strict security to inquire after the health of ruling party MNA, sources told Dawn.

Prime Minister Shoukat Aziz, accompanied by federal health secretary Syed Anwar Mehmood arrived at Pims at around 9:55pm and spend some time with MNA Riaz Hussain Pirzada, from Bahawalpur who was admitted in the CCU ward of the hospital in connection with heart disease.

Later the PM departed from the hospital at around 10:05pm.

Heavy contingent of security forces arrived at the hospital, some 30 minutes before the arrival of the PM and took the hospital under their surveillance.

The administration block of the hospital vacated from the attendants/visitors of the patients, however, only one attendant was allowed to remain with their patients, sources said.

Likewise, the gate of general ward entrance has been shut and attendants were asked to use another gate. Similarly, the medical store of the hospital was also under the strict surveillance of the security forces and attendants faced great hardship to purchase medicine for their patients.
