KHAIRPUR, Dec 22: President of People’s Lawyers Forum (PLF), Sukkur region, Liaquat Ali Shar, on Friday accused the district administration of interfering in the elections for District Bar Association Khairpur

Speaking at a gathering of advocates in Thari Mirwah he said that it was for the first time that the lawyers’ relatives working in different government departments were threatened and asked to persuade their relatives not to cast votes for PLF. The district administration, too, interfered for the first time in DBA elections and used official vehicles in electioneering for government-backed candidates, he charged.

BOOKED: Police booked 25 people on Thursday for staging a procession and blocking a road. They were protesting against police for their refusal to file an FIR after some people allegedly killed their relative Feroze Pathan.

She said in the FIR that her husband was doing some household work when the accused hit him with bricks to death. Police had so far made no arrest.
