Waiter shot dead

LAHORE, Dec 21: Two unidentified people shot dead a waiter of a local hotel in the Ichhra area early Thursday morning. The Ichhra SPO said Shabbir, 25, was standing at a bus stop in front of Jamia Ashrafia on Ferozpur Road at around 1:30am when two motorcyclists turned up there and opened fire on him. Shabbir sustained three bullet injuries and died on way to hospital.

He was a resident of Bahawalnagar and working at a hotel on Wahdat Road.

The SPO said according to the statement of his brother Nazir, Shabbir had no enmity with anyone.

THEFT: Thieves sneaked into Aurangzeb’s general store at Y-Block in Defence and decamped with valuables worth Rs90,000.

FOUND DEAD: An unidentified middle-aged man was found dead at Bhati Gate.

Police said the man, in his fifties, seemed to be a beggar and might have died of cold. —Reporter
