Dollar steady

LONDON, Dec 21: The dollar held its ground on Thursday in quiet pre-Christmas trade after a day of mixed US data including a downgrade of third-quarter US gross domestic product data. In late European trade, the euro was at $1.3174, from $1.3175 late on Wednesday in New York. The dollar stood at 118.34 yen from 118.45 yen late on Wednesday. On the London Bullion Market, the price of gold increased to $620.50 per ounce, from $619.25 late on Wednesday.—AFP
