KARACHI, Dec 21: Nine ships carrying general cargo, chemicals and to load clinker are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where seven vessels, CMA CGM Tulip, Hyundai Highway, Y.M. Fortune, Qatari Ibn Alfuja and Harmony to unload and load containers, Irika to offload coal and Banga to load naphtha were berthed after the departure of six.
The ships, which departed included CMA CGM Tulip, Qatari Ibn Alfuja, Hyundai Highway, APL Jeddah, Johar and Pacific Express, while Y.M. Fortune and C. Emerald are due to sail out on Friday.
Cargo handling activity at the wharves was active where a total tonnage of 72,697 tons comprising 17,422 tons of export cargo including 6,957 tons of rice and 55,275 tons of import cargo was handled.
The following ships are due to arrive on Friday: Gracea-A with fuel oil, Swat with crude oil, Bow Valley with chemicals, Iran Kordestan and Bunga Terasek with containers, Shaheen Al-Ghanim-10 to load 25,000 tons of clinkers, Sultan-1 to load general cargo, Blue Star with 5,643 tons of soyabean meal and Pontonikis with steel.
