By Our Correspondent

NEW DELHI, Dec 20: Senate Chairman Mohammadmian Soomro on Wednesday met Indian Vice-President Bhairon Singh Shekhawat and invited him to visit Pakistan. They discussed the benefits of a regular exchange of student delegations from the two countries.

Mr Soomro appreciated the cooperative movement and the development of banking, telecom and infrastructure sectors in India.

Mr Shekhawat, the former chief minister of Rajasthan, said Mr Soomro’s visit would enhance the cooperation between parliaments of the two countries.

The Indian vice-president is traditionally also the chairman of the upper house of parliament, the Rajya Sabha.
