Provinces dominate on opening day

LAHORE, Dec 19: Punjab, Sindh, NWFP, Islamabad and Habib Bank registered wins in the men's team event of the 44th National table tennis championship which started at Al-Fatah Sports Complex, Faisalabad on Tuesday.

Punjab 'A' beat PTV 3-0. Sindh 'A' outclassed Army and its 'B' team also crushed Balochistan with identical margin 3-0. HBL moved into the next round beating NWFP-A 3-0 while Islamabad carved out 3-2 win against Railways.

In the women's team event Habib Bank, Pak PWD and Army also earned wins.

HBL beat Sindh-B 3-0 while Pak PWD outplayed Punjab-B. Army seized a 3-0 win against Sindh-A.
