Bills payment through ATMs

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 18: The State Bank in consultation with banks and switch operators, has decided to offer the facility of utility bills payment across the ATM network in phases. In the first phase, the banks will provide the service through their own ATMs by Jan 31, 2007, and in the second phase utility bills would be paid through any ATM.

All banks will be hooked through their respective switches for centralised accounts maintenance and payment to utility companies. The banks will work closely with switch operators to finalise the plan.
