PESHAWAR, Dec 18: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has said that Hasba Bill has been tailored in keeping with the Supreme Court’s earlier judgment. Therefore, his government has decided to defend the bill in the apex court.
This he said while talking to a delegation comprising MMA and JUI leaders that called on him at the Frontier House in Peshawar on Monday. Maulana Mohammad Amjad Khan and Maulana Jamilur Rehman were leading the delegation.
Members of the delegation informed the chief minister of their problems, including the need for better schools, roads and bridges.
Talking to the delegation, the chief minister said his government wanted to provide real service to the people.
He said his government had undertaken development projects in all parts of the province without any discrimination.
The works launched by the MMA government during the last four years had no parallel in the history of the province, he claimed.
The chief minister said his government would continue serving the people and added that in the next elections MMA would again emerge as a successful political party.
He discussed at length the development projects undertaken in the Haripur district. He said that his government was trying to bring the less developed areas of the province at par with the developed ones.
The chief minister assured the members of the delegation that their problems would be solved on a priority basis.—PPI
