Sadiq Dane school’s event ends

BAHAWALPUR, Dec 17: The week-long centenary celebrations of the Government Sadiq Dane High School concluded here with regional scouts rally on Sunday. The rally was organised under the auspices of the Punjab Boy Scouts Association in collaboration with regional scouts’ organizations.

It was participated by scouts from over fifty schools of districts of Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan.

The concluding ceremony was presided over by director public instruction, Secondary Education, Punjab, and Assistant Provincial Scouts Commissioner Mian Abdul Haq. Regional Scouts organiser Muhammed Ashiq Alvi and senior headmaster of the school Muhammed Afzal Gill also spoke on the ocassion.

In his presidential address, the DPI said the scouts could bring social change and transform society.

Bahawalnagar got first prize in scout camping, while Bahawalpur and Rahimyarkhan was placed second.

An exhibition of the pictures, coins and badges belonging to the former Bahawalpur State was also part of the event. Organised by Gulzar Ghauri, the exhibition attracted a large number of people. — Correspondent
