Blind World Cup: Pakistan beat India to retain title

RAWALPINDI, Dec 16: Defending champions Pakistan retained their title by winning the 3rd Blind Cricket World Cup final by six wickets against India at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday.

Noor Qureshi played key role for Pakistan in the victory with his brilliant unbeaten knock of 102 which lifted the home side to the required target of 226 in the 30th over for loss of four wickets.

India had earlier scored 225 for loss of seven wickets in stipulated 40 overs after Pakistan won the toss and asked them to bat first.

Subhash Bhoya was top scorer for the tourists with 54 runs whereas Dilip Mundey remained unbeaten on 47.

Six batsmen of India were run out. Waqas claimed the only wicket for the home side.

In reply, Pakistan overtook the Indian total in the 30th over when Masood Jan hit the winning shot to the boundary to wrap up the match.—APP
