It’s all about lifestyles

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE Dec 16: The fifth annual All About Lifestyles exhibition organised by the Dawn Group of Newspapers began at the Fortress Stadium Expo Centre with traditional pomp and liveliness here on Saturday.

A large number of people started pouring in at the venue for the exhibition which commenced at 10am. The event offered a wide range of products -- both commercial and consumer items -- and had the German Shepherd Dog Show, beyblade game area and Young World Pavilion where children enjoyed face paintings, pottery colouring and drawing activities.

The façade of the Expo Center was wearing bright but sober look. On the ground and first floors, over 120 exhibitors had set up stalls offering an array of products covering lifestyles in the broad term. The visitors, including children, kept coming to the place till 10pm.

Offering a range of continental, local and Chinese delicacies was a food court which remained a centre of attraction of the visitors. The people relished the food according to their mood and choice.

A permanent feature of lifestyles exhibition was the Young World Pavilion, where the children had fun by getting their cheeks painted, colouring pottery and doing drawings. It also gave away prizes to the best among the young artists. In the sci-tech world area, the visitors enjoyed network gaming.

There were lucky draws at the exhibition offering four return tickets to Dubai and a grand prize offering a return ticket to Manchester by the host of the exhibition in collaboration with Mahaan Air and TSY Travels.

Visitors also enjoyed recording their impressions about the event. Mahmood Ahmad said the exhibition should continue at least for a week so that people could make the most of it.

Muhammad Saeed was of the opinion that “such an exhibition should be held twice a year at least.” Some other visitors also expressed pleasure over being part of the event.

The German Shepherd Dog Show was the mega attraction at the event. A number of dog lovers and general visitors to the exhibition took keen interest in the show which had been introduced to the lifestyles exhibition a year before. The show was organised in collaboration with the German Shepherd Dog Club of Pakistan. An all-breed dog show would be organised on Sunday (today) in collaboration with the Kennel Club of Pakistan.

For the all-breed dog show, a foreign judge, Dusan Paunovic, has specially flown into Pakistan.

The two-day exhibition would conclude at 10pm today and then move to Karachi where it would be held on Dec 22 to 24.
