PESHAWAR: Development projects to be completed soon: Akram
PESHAWAR, Dec 16: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani on Saturday said that his government had always been trying to solve the problems of people on priority.
Talking to a delegation of provincial constituency PF 43 Hangu that called on him at the Frontier House here, he said that development projects initiated in the province would be completed soon.Members of the delegation, led by MPA Qari Abdullah Bangash, informed the chief minister about their problems and sought supply of gas for five villages of Karak, Thal, construction of Urmar and Hangu-Thal roads and provision of funds for nazims of their areas.
Mr Durrani said the government had equally provided funds to all districts of the province, adding that the discovery of gas reserves in the NWFP was a gift for the province and his government would use it for the benefit of people.
“We should jointly work for the development of the province and prosperity of its people,” he said, adding that the people of Hangu, Karak, Kohat, Mardan, Charsadda, Swat, Malakand and Nowshera would also be provided gas.
Mr Durrani assured the delegation of undertaking development works in their areas.
The chief minister on the occasion directed the issuance of tenders for the construction of Hangu-Thal road by January 2007.
He promised the construction of Urmar road in district Karak and provision of developmental funds to the nazims of Hangu district.—PPI
