KARACHI, Dec 15: More than 700 students from eight schools in Pakistan will join Think.com, a protected online learning community where they can share educational content, collaborate on projects, and build knowledge.
Initially, students from AES School for Girls, the AMSB School, Bay View Academy, Citizen’s Foundation (Cowasjee Campus), Dawood Public School, Deaf Reach, Froebel Education, Gulistan Boys School, Habib Girls School, Happy Home School, International School, Karachi High School, Metropoitan Academy, Payam-e-Taleem Education Centre and River Oaks Academy will be able to collaborate with 300,000 students and teachers from 48 countries who are already Think.com members.
Think.com provides students and teachers with protected e-mail accounts, personal webpages where they can publish text and upload images, and a collaborative working environment where they can engage in discussions and projects with members around the world. It is an educational programme designed to bring together students and technology in ways that positively impact learning. Students worldwide have benefited building vital technology and collaboration skills. Using the advanced collaboration tools, schools can also design virtual webpages and post pages to communicative vital information to parents. Oracle provides specific training so that the school community can take advantage of all functionality.
Think.com is available in nine languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai and Turkish. To date, over 98,000 students and teachers across 7 countries in Asia Pacific are using Think.com to communicate and collaborate with one another.
