KARACHI: ‘Rs55bn projects will change city’s face’

KARACHI, Dec 15: Sindh Local Government Minister Muhammad Hussain Khan has said citizens would see a different Karachi after the completion of Rs55 billion worth development projects, which were initiated by the present city government.
He said this while speaking at a public meeting in Shah Faisal Town on Thursday night. MNA Iqbal Muhamamd Ali, MPAs of the area, Shah Faisal Town Nazim and officials of the utility services were present on the occasion.
According to a press release, he said besides city government’s development projects, provincial and federal governments had also initiated a number of development projects including construction of roads, supply of clean drinking water, sewerage system and others.
He asked the Sindh Kutchi Abadis Authority officials to conduct a survey of all kutchi abadis in Shah Faisal and submit him the report in a week for provision of their lease status.
Mr Hussain said though many problems had been solved there was always a room for improvement and the concerned TMAs would have to go a long way.
Town residents pointed out rising incidents of crime in Moria Khan Goth of Shah Faisal Colony. On their complaints, the minister ordered police officials to immediately look into the matter and submit him a detailed report within a week, as maintaining law and order was the top priority of government.
