LONDON, Dec 14: The report into the death of Princess Diana and her boyfriend Dodi al-Fayed in a Paris car crash was a cover up, a spokesman for Dodi’s father Mohammed al-Fayed said on Thursday.
The reaction came after former police chief Lord John Stevens in the report rejected charges by Fayed that it was a murder plotted by UK intelligence services.
“We believe it is all part of a scheme to close down the inquiry and to cover up the truth,” said Michael Cole, at a press conference responding to the release of the 800-page report.
“The French interviews were perfunctory in the extreme and thoroughly unsatisfactory,” he said. Fleeing paparazzi photographers, Diana, 36, and her boyfriend Dodi, 42, were killed in a car crash in a Paris.—AFP
