KARCHI, Dec 14: Eight ships carrying soyabean meal, chemicals, cars and to load rice are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was modest where four vessels, Hyundai Sprinter, Y.M. Mondego to unload and load containers, Lalazar to offload crude oil and Cherry Star, Ro Ro carrier were berthed after the departure of two.

The ships, which departed on Thursday were Oel Esteem and APL Dalian, while Hyundai Sprinter, Soraya, Pacific Jade, Y.M. Mondego and Lalazar are due to sail out on Friday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the higher side where a total tonnage of 88,474 tons comprising 16,586 tons of export cargo and 71,888 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Friday: Al-Marwah with chemicals, Katina to load 23,000 tons of rice, American Hihgway with 1,196 cars, Precious with 9,500 tons of soyabean meal, Oel Victory, Corin Thaikos, Mega-2, and Kota Perkasa with containers.
